Prayer Requests – 4th June 2017

To Consider In Your Prayers…

  • The General Election. Pray for thoughtful voting and for God’s hand to direct elected candidates to give conscientious service for the good of those they represent. Pray that there will be clear voices to speak up for what will strengthen communities according to his ways

  • For those in government and those new to their role from Thursday onwards who are faced with high pressure decision making in the face of terrorist acts. Also for personal stamina and courage as they seek to establish priorities and implement policies applying to complex issues with very long term consequences. For God’s mercy on our nation

  • The injured, traumatised and bereaved families and friends caught up in the attack in Manchester and other similar incidents across the world. Pray for all the agencies offering support and help and especially local Christians, ministers and churches involved in challenging conversations over the coming weeks. That many would discover the peace of eternal security through God’s love shown in Christ

  • For the Lower School in this final term at the present site. For Margaret Beaufort School to function well alongside building for the new Primary School. The timetable is very tight. Please pray for the builders and site manager to work safely and quickly and to finish on time

  • Everyone facing exams and finals- to make wise decisions when considering their future and have confidence in God’s good purposes as they wait for results

  • Those in our church family coping with bereavement, illness and other causes of strain at home or at work. Those who need extra care to live safely; the housebound, lonely or in residential care

  • That we would be people of prayer and faithful service and that the Lord would add to our number those who are being saved.  (See Acts 2:47)

To Consider In Your Prayers…

  • Thank you for your prayers for our inspection last Friday as an Anglican Church School (Separate from Ofsted). The result will probably not be released until after half term. Last Wednesday the headmaster and governor representatives went to the site in the pouring rain, stuck a spade in the ground and prayed for God’s blessing on all who will be working and learning there over the coming years. The timetable for the building is very tight. Please pray for the builders and their site manager to finish work safely and as quickly as possible

  • School, College and University Students facing exams and finals. Pray they would be able to consider the future with growing confidence in God’s good purposes as they wait for results

  • Pray that the Village Hall hustings on Friday might be an honest presentation of political priorities and values allowing people to be well informed as they make their vote in the General Election

  • That God would be opening doors for the gospel as people think about the foundations of their world view and what will be truly good for society and our place in the world

  • Parents and all who have responsibility for the care of young children

  • The people who work to protect the rest of us from criminal activity, terrorism and international conflict. Ask that God would grant them wisdom and success and frustrate the actions of those who are cruel and careless with the lives and concerns of others. Pray for medical and hospital workers under strain, patients suffering illness and the extra pressures caused by the threat and incidence of cyber attacks

  • For our services week by week and all our other meetings and activities to be building us up for faithful, fruitful service and reaching people of all ages with the good news of Christ crucified, risen, ascended, reigning and returning

Give thanks for Ofsted rating our Lower School as Good.  Please pray for all the staff and governors as preparations continue to be worked through for the transition to Primary School at the new site. Building is getting under way this week and the timing is very tight for allowing the practical challenge of moving and setting up to be ready for children in September
  • Students facing exams  and finals
  •  The voting taking place today in the French election. Campaigning over the next 6 weeks for our General Election, for careful speaking and listening and that God would be opening doors for the gospel as people think about the foundations of their world view and what will be truly good for society and our place in the world
  • Give thanks for all Christian congregations who seek to honour God in worship and to make Christ known. Give thanks for Sharnbrook Evangelical Church celebrating their 25th Anniversary, and for our partnership in the gospel
  • Parents and all who have responsibility for the care of young children
  • The people who work to protect the rest of us from criminal activity, terrorism and international conflict.
