Prayer Requests – 14th January 2018

Suggestions For Your Prayers …

  • Martin & Nicky conclude their time in Riseley & Bletsoe on 14th January. Do pray with sincere hearts for them both as they prepare to begin new ministry in Essex. May they go with God and continue to know his love and guidance as they seek to follow in obedience to his will
  • Please pray for all of us at All Saints & St Mary’s Bletsoe as we too seek our Lord’s guiding hand through a period of interregnum. May he already have his hand upon our new minister, to guide him clearly to us

Let us approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need (Hebrews 4)

 

Prayer Requests – 3rd December 2017

Suggestions For Your Prayers…

 

  • For all Christians to live in newness of life as signified by their baptism. Pray for those preparing to be confirmed and all who are wanting to grow in Christian maturity

 

  • For members of our Church family facing times of change in their lives at home or at work

 

  • People caring for others who are seriously ill to have the stamina and compassion. For the sick themselves to endure pain with patience and ask that they may be granted comfort through an awareness of God’s presence

 

  • That God would grant wisdom and courage to leaders who can influence towards stopping and preventing violence and the increase of suffering in the situations affecting many places including Yemen, Syria, Myanmar, Bangladesh, North Korea, the Iran earthquake, the Egyptian atrocity, the changing political atmosphere in Zimbabwe

 

  • For God to be powerfully at work in the lives of those attending recent university missions, Christmas events and carol services. Pray for our witness to be full of the good news of Christ our Saviour

 

  • Pray for PCC members involved with meetings to do with the vacancy. Pray that God would call someone here, to serve Him faithfully for the building up and growth of His church

Suggestions For Your Prayers…

 

  • Pray for Asha and Sangster that they are able to focus in the Bible Study group at their Stars Café and pray for wisdom for Sangster in issues relating to the wider Presbyterian Church he is connected to where there are some differences on matters of principle

 

  • For those considering Baptism or Confirmation. For all who are wanting to grow in Christian maturity

 

  • For members of our Church family facing times of change in their lives at home or at work

 

  • Several people in or close to our congregation and community who have health concerns. Those facing serious illness, suffering through injury, undergoing demanding treatment

 

  • That God would grant wisdom and courage to leaders who can influence towards stopping and preventing violence and the increase of suffering in the situations affecting many places including Yemen, Syria, Zimbabwe, Myanmar, Bangladesh, North Korea, the Iran earthquake, the Egyptian atrocity, the changing political atmosphere in Zimbabwe

 

  • The work of Festive. Give thanks that they have regular contact with around 350 students from over 200 colleges. Pray for the Student Support Volunteers who help to encourage Christian students and groups

 

  • For God to be powerfully at work in the lives of those attending recent university missions and all the Christmas events and carol services in the next few weeks. Pray for our witness to be full of the good news of Christ our Saviour

 

  • The Bishop of Bedford is visiting the Primary School on Wednesday. Pray for all staff and pupils to have a sense of belonging together and appreciating a distinctive Christian ethos as it grows and strengthens

 

  • Pray for PCC members as responsibilities and tasks are shared in preparation for a time of vacancy and for the whole congregation to be strengthened through serving together. Pray that God would call someone here, to serve Him faithfully for the building up and growth of all his people in mission and ministry

Suggestions For Your Prayers…

 

  • Several people in or close to our congregation and community who have health concerns. Those facing serious illness, suffering through injury, having tests, undergoing demanding treatment or recovering from surgery. Give thanks and pray for family members and friends who are giving practical support and spiritual encouragement when it is needed

 

  • Wherever there is political change or uncertainty pray for Christians to have a steady in trust in God and to point people to the one who has all authority in heaven and on earth. The earthquake in Iran, Yemen, Syria, Zimbabwe, Myanmar, Bangladesh, North Korea,. Pray for our own leaders and the negotiations relating to Brexit. Thousands of migrants who are extremely vulnerable as they travel

 

  • The work of Festive. Give thanks that they have regular contact with around 350 students from over 200 colleges. Pray for the Student Support Volunteers who help to encourage Christian students and groups

 

  • For God to be powerfully at work in the lives of those attending recent university missions and all the Christmas events and carol services in the next few weeks. Pray for our witness to be full of the good news of Christ our Saviour during the coming Christmas season

 

  • Our foundation Governors at the Primary. Continue to pray for the deepening of our strong links and effective use of the opportunities to lead Collective Worship, run Aslan’s Club (Wednesday after School), and get to know families through ABC, ADAM, and personal contact

 

  • Pray for PCC members as responsibilities and tasks are shared in preparation for a time of vacancy and for the whole congregation to be strengthened through serving together. Pray that God would call someone here, to serve Him faithfully for the building up and growth of all his people in mission and ministry

Prayer Requests – 12th November 2017

Suggestions For Your Prayers…

 

  • All who have been bereaved because of war and those who are remembering family and friends who have served in the military. Pray that Acts of Remembrance might play a part in motivating more people to be peacemakers in every aspect of life.  Pray for God’s strengthening of all national leaders who are seeking  reconciliation and cooperation and ask for his mercy to restrain all that drives nations towards conflict

 

  • Strength and resourcefulness for all who are trying to bring help to those in desperate situations, such as the children suffering with cholera in Yemen, the Christian relief agencies seeking to help the Rohingya in Bangladesh as they escape from Myanmar. Migrants in danger as they travel and that all officials would be compassionate and practical as they meet them. The war scarred countries of the Middle East as Isis continue to be driven out

 

  • Those in our congregation and community who are facing serious illness, undergoing demanding treatment or recovering from surgery. Pray for family members and friends to be able to give practical support and spiritual encouragement when it is needed

 

  • Church leaders at all levels to continue to be lead more by Jesus, lead more like Jesus and lead more to Jesus. Having been reminded on the Away Day that each of us is God’s gift to every other one of us, pray that we would be active in praying for God’s equipping to learn how to function more and more as a healthy body with every part working in harmony as it should

 

  • As the Primary School settles into a more familiar routine, pray for the headteacher and all the staff to work for excellence in standards for the children as well as strengthening the ethos

 

  • God’s direction of the planning needed to prepare for the period of vacancy so that mission and ministry will be able to continue for the good of the whole congregation

Suggestions For Your Prayers…

 

  • That Remembrance may be a prompt for all of us – especially national leaders, to think and take action for the avoidance of war

 

  • Strength and resourcefulness for all who are trying to bring help to those in desperate situations, such as the children suffering with cholera in Yemen, the Christian relief agencies seeking to help the Rohingya in Bangladesh as they escape from Myanmar. Border staff in Mediterranean countries facing a constant stream of migrants from North Africa. The war scarred countries of the Middle East as Isis are driven out

 

  • Those in our congregation and community who are facing serious illness, undergoing demanding treatment or recovering from surgery. Pray for family members and friends to be able to give practical support and spiritual encouragement when it is needed

 

  • Church leaders at all levels to continue to be lead more by Jesus, lead more like Jesus and lead more to Jesus. Having been reminded on the Away Day that each of us is God’s gift to every other one of us, pray that we would be active in praying for God’s equipping to learn how to function more and more as a healthy body with every part working in harmony as it should

Suggestions For Your Prayers…

  • Give thanks for the teaching given at the Church Away Day. Pray that we would be dependent on God as we work through the application of our identity in Christ as a people united through belonging to God, with diverse gifts of equal value to be used for the common good
  • Pray for Crosslinks Mission Partners, Julian and Nicky and their children – learning Spanish, raising funds and looking for a place to live in Valencia – as they prepare for their move next year. Pray that God would work through the political tensions to prepare people to hear the gospel which gives secure citizenship in heaven
  • As cohorts of young people vary from year to year, please pray for God-directed clear thinking about the most effective way for us to provide opportunities for reaching and teaching them. Pray for the leaders working with Sunday groups, ABC, ADAM, Aslan’s Club, Fusion, Omega+ and CYFA to be ready to change or persevere under God’s guidance. For good and godly decisions about future holiday clubs
  • Christians under pressure through circumstance or the effects of ill-health. Those who find it difficult to get out of their homes, the lonely and the fearful. Continue to pray for people recovering after time in hospital or receiving treatment. Give thanks for every recovery from illness and sign of healing
  • Joy in Christian service as we seek to Know Christ and Make Him Known
