Prayer Requests – 12th November 2017

Suggestions For Your Prayers…

  • All who have been bereaved because of war and those who are remembering family and friends who have served in the military. Pray that Acts of Remembrance might play a part in motivating more people to be peacemakers in every aspect of life.  Pray for God’s strengthening of all national leaders who are seeking  reconciliation and cooperation and ask for his mercy to restrain all that drives nations towards conflict

  • Strength and resourcefulness for all who are trying to bring help to those in desperate situations, such as the children suffering with cholera in Yemen, the Christian relief agencies seeking to help the Rohingya in Bangladesh as they escape from Myanmar. Migrants in danger as they travel and that all officials would be compassionate and practical as they meet them. The war scarred countries of the Middle East as Isis continue to be driven out

  • Those in our congregation and community who are facing serious illness, undergoing demanding treatment or recovering from surgery. Pray for family members and friends to be able to give practical support and spiritual encouragement when it is needed

  • Church leaders at all levels to continue to be lead more by Jesus, lead more like Jesus and lead more to Jesus. Having been reminded on the Away Day that each of us is God’s gift to every other one of us, pray that we would be active in praying for God’s equipping to learn how to function more and more as a healthy body with every part working in harmony as it should

  • As the Primary School settles into a more familiar routine, pray for the headteacher and all the staff to work for excellence in standards for the children as well as strengthening the ethos

  • God’s direction of the planning needed to prepare for the period of vacancy so that mission and ministry will be able to continue for the good of the whole congregation

Know Christ and Make Him Known

Border staff in Mediterranean countries facing a constant stream of migrants from North Africa. The war scarred countries of the Middle East as Isis are driven out

Prayer Requests – 29th October 2017

Suggestions For Your Prayers…

  • Give thanks for the teaching given at the Church Away Day. Pray that we would be dependent on God as we work through the application of our identity in Christ as a people united through belonging to God, with diverse gifts of equal value to be used for the common good
  • Pray for Crosslinks Mission Partners, Julian and Nicky and their children – learning Spanish, raising funds and looking for a place to live in Valencia – as they prepare for their move next year. Pray that God would work through the political tensions to prepare people to hear the gospel which gives secure citizenship in heaven
  • As cohorts of young people vary from year to year, please pray for God-directed clear thinking about the most effective way for us to provide opportunities for reaching and teaching them. Pray for the leaders working with Sunday groups, ABC, ADAM, Aslan’s Club, Fusion, Omega+ and CYFA to be ready to change or persevere under God’s guidance. For good and godly decisions about future holiday clubs
  • Christians under pressure through circumstance or the effects of ill-health. Those who find it difficult to get out of their homes, the lonely and the fearful. Continue to pray for people recovering after time in hospital or receiving treatment. Give thanks for every recovery from illness and sign of healing
