Prayer Requests – 8th January 2017

To Prompt You This Week As You Pray ….

  • People who are concerned or caring for someone close to them who is ill or in trouble. Ask God to grant them opportunities to show Christ-like love, discerning when to share words of encouragement or bring words of challenge

  • Those for whom bereavement has had an impact over the Christmas period, now facing the new year as they grieve and also deal with ongoing practical consequences

  • Give thanks for all the occasions at which the good news of Christ was presented and for all who attended Christmas services. Pray they would be motivated to find out more during the year ahead – and for people to apply for the Christianity Explored course

  • Our youth and children’s group leaders – and the beginning of a new TFG (Time for God) group this month with Fusion contacts

  • Give thanks for our Church Wardens and pray for God’s provision of someone to fill the role as a vacancy arises in April

  • For those on the Growing Leaders course – that the time and thought invested would be fruitful

  • Pray for the core team planning and preparing for this year’s Easter holiday club. Pray for enough leaders to be able to take the time from work to help

  • Pray for the compassionate care of migrants and refugees in the long term – especially for practical ways to avoid the high numbers of deaths as people try to cross the Mediterranean

  • For people who are hoping for a new start this year, including Christians who have resolved to read the Bible more regularly and be more prayerful. Pray that each of us in All Saints would grow in our discipleship as we serve and worship God – and seek to love our neighbour as ourselves

  • For Christians facing doubt and temptation to have conviction of the truth and courage to act in obedience. Pray they would receive encouragement from other Christians

  • For students away at college and universities as they approach exams – also for students at schools preparing for A levels and GCSE’s. For Festive, trying to offer them a Christian perspective
