Prayer Requests – 15th May 2016

To consider as you pray this week…

  • For those recently baptised to grow in understanding God’s grace and that God would work in them so that their lives would increasingly reflect the promises and commitments they have made in baptism

  • For all who have to cope with chronic pain and deteriorating health

  • All who have been bereaved

  • For God’s guiding hand to be on those who have recently moved abroad for a time, as they adjust to being so far from home

  • The thousands of people in Alberta (Canada) displaced because of the huge wildfire and those whose homes have been destroyed. Also for the millions who have been driven from their homes and countries through oppression, ethnic or religious conflicts. For compassionate care of migrants and refugees even when there are limited resources

  • Following recent events in Bangladesh pray for God’s restraining hand on those who cause attacks on the vulnerable because of race or religion or their desire for power

  • For God’s mercy to our Christian brothers and sisters in prison for their faith or persecuted in their communities

  • For many people under stress at work. That the continuing talks in the Junior Doctors’ dispute would be lead to an effective resolution allowing good health care for all who need it

  • That we all may be careful to think and speak Christianly without prejudice on political issues, having a godly perspective, especially concerning the EU Referendum. Seek first his kingdom and his righteousness. Matthew 6:33

  • For students away at college and universities approaching finals exams; students at schools preparing for A levels and GCSEs and for Festive trying to offer them a Christian perspective
