Prayer Requests – 17th January 2016

To Pray for this Week…

  • All who are suffering as refugees, migrants or in war zones and especially the persecuted. For God to give strength and success to everyone who is seeking to love their neighbour whether  through political  leadership or direct practical care through relief agencies

  • All who are detained and the staff at Yarl’s Wood. Pray for administrators to work efficiently and justly as they process applications for asylum

  • Pray for the Borough Council, The Diocese, and Governing Bodies that God would grant them right judgement and courage to make good decisions about how to proceed  for the long term benefit of the children who will attend the newly structured local schools

  • For the organisers and leaders of Summer Ventures to have godly vision, and for many young people to apply and gain a true understanding of what Christians believe. Pray for transparency of approach to counteract the increasing suspicion of ‘religious’ activity

  • That we would receive applications for the Road Runners Easter Holiday Club with age grouping that suits the material and content we are planning. Please pray for the planning team to be guided as we share ideas and that God would be at work building of his church

  • People concerned for the health and well being of family members, that they would know how to balance the commitment to care and comforting with their everyday responsibilities

  • The Church of England and the world wide Anglican Communion following the meeting of the leaders (Primates) of national churches and Archbishop Welby who met in Canterbury last week. Pray that whatever is reported in the news there would be many who make a clear commitment to obedience to God’s everlasting word rather than a faith that changes in line with constantly changing culture

  • Anyone dealing with unexpected disappointment or changes at work or home. Pray for active dependence upon and trust in God

  • The recently bereaved

  • For Festive staff seeking to support Christians in 6th Form and Technical Colleges
