Prayer Requests – 1st November 2015

To prompt your prayers this week…

  • Give thanks for all whom God has called to himself throughout the ages and their witness to Christ. Pray for Christians who are facing persecution to have confidence that nothing can separate them from the love of God in Christ

  • Ask God to grant us strength and an eagerness to do what is good in faithful service here in Riseley, as well as other spheres of our daily life – at home, at work, as pupils and students

  • Pray for all who are bereaved to be comforted and that they would turn to God as they reflect on the direction of their own lives

  • Christians who have a role to play in caring for relatives or involvement in significant family events as the balance and responsibilities of relationships shifts and changes. Pray for spiritual wisdom with Christ-like words and actions

  • For everyone who feels the burden of physical weakness or illness and pray for their strength of mind to remember and trust in God

  • Give thanks for our Away Day and pray that those present would be able to digest and apply the teaching:- to avoid drifting off course by looking to Jesus; considering the example of Jesus in the face of suffering; being increasingly like Jesus in character

  • That the tension between those who want to show care for refugees and migrants and those who see the need to suppress and restrain their movements would result in bold decision-making from those in a position to influence the situations of so many vulnerable people

  • Give thanks for the provision of funding for a director of Festive and pray for God’s provision of the right person for a demanding job with great potential to benefit 16-19 year olds in 6th Form and Further Education Colleges

  • Pray for God’s merciful hand to open more doors for negotiations which will lead to reduction of violence and genuine steps to the restoration of battered peoples and nations
