Prayer Requests – 1st December 2013

In the coming week please pray for…

  • local schools, their staff and their governing bodies. Pray for the pupils in these formative years that they would be gaining knowledge and learning lessons for life even while head teachers face the constant pressures of personnel and financial management. Give thanks for the Christian ethos at the Lower School and pray that it would make a real difference to staff pupils and parents
  • University and College missions: follow up for those that have taken place and good preparation for the ones happening next term. Pray for students to be bold in their witness and that many would come to repentance and true faith in Christ. Pray for the work of Festive who support Christian pupils and students in sixth forms and colleges
  • those who are ill and the bereaved, to have the assurance of God’s presence and to deepen their trust in him
  • all who work for emergency services to cope with the physical and emotional stresses in extreme situations so others may be helped, rescued and healed
  • our church Christmas card to be well received and used practically to encourage people to come and hear about what Christmas means. Pray for good and manageable numbers to attend the new service for young children on 14th December and all our services. Pray that God would be at work in the hearts of children and adults
  • we do not preach ourselves, but Jesus Christ as Lord (2 Corinthians 4:5) Pray that this would be true at every level of the Church of England
