All Saints, All Together 2014

Our Church Weekend Away  has been booked for the weekend of

Friday 24th – Sunday 26th October at the Hayes Centre in Swanwick

Anyone who came to the July training day will be pleased to know that Tim Hanson is the speaker

SUMMER VENTURES

Now is the time to think about  arranging next summer to allow for young people to be able to attend a  Pathfinder  Venture (roughly 10s- 14s) or CYFA Venture (roughly 14s – 18s).

Before you book your family holidays or sports courses check the Ventures brochure. Available very soon!

There are people willing to contribute to the costs to make it possible for your child to go

It is often very worthwhile when a couple of friends or a group go to the same Venture. A number of people in this congregation have been involved  so that we have good knowledge of those currently leading. We would love to help you choose one which is well run and works hard to help members find out,  explore and  understand Christianity better

A Passion for Life

Home Groups have been using DVD studies and training sessions to help be better prepared for any opportunities that arise to talk about their Christian faith and life. Knowing how to tell your own story can be a real boost to confidence when talking with others. Prayer has been emphasised since it is only God who can change people’s hearts and enable people to see who Jesus really is. One of the sessions encouraged people to open up the Bible to let God speak and help keep things focused on the main subject

In the weeks leading up to Easter 2014 (Easter Day is 20th April), the home groups will be considering what kind of activity – however small or large – they could arrange for friends and other contacts , to strengthen relationships as well as inviting people to make the most of Easter

Volunteers

You could contribute to our church life in some very practical ways

Brass cleaning and Flowers.  For 1 month in the year clean the brass candlesticks, cross and vases and provide some flowers for the Communion Table, checking and watering them

Tea and Coffee after the morning service. Approx once every 6 to 8 weeks, bring milk, set up before service, and clear away. People usually join in to serve and clear up as well

Reading the Bible in the service. This includes arriving a little earlier to welcome people, and bringing the collection to the front

Cleaning the Church. This is a good task to share with someone. About once every couple of months. Most do it on a Saturday. Dusting, sweeping, hoovering, checking the toilet etc.
