Prayer Requests – 3rd March 2013

Things for you to pray for this week …

  • that our agreed aim to “Know Christ and make him known” will be pursued by each individual Christian and by the whole congregation.
  • Bletsoe and Riseley PCCs as they meet on Thursday to consider the proposals for the arrangement of churches and the number of ministers in the Sharnbrook Deanery. Pray for God’s leading to enable vibrant Christian witness across the villages of North Bedfordshire.
  • the organisations such as Reform, The Christian Institute, Coalition for Marriage as they work to help as many as possible understand the serious consequences of the proposed legislation to redefine marriage.
  • for all who lead churches to do so with a servant heart, especially praying for Justin Welby the Archbishop of Canterbury as he learns more of the opportunities and responsibilities of his role.
  • give thanks for the applications to attend holiday club and pray for those still thinking about applying to so as soon as possible.
  • all those who have been bereaved as they reflect on the past while adjusting to changed circumstances. Pray for them to see God’s hand on their lives
  • those who are ill or convalescing after illness or surgery including Helen Minter, Digby Morgan Jones. Pray for people waiting for the results of tests to be able to entrust themselves to God’s care whatever may yet lie ahead.
  • an awareness of the needs of the wider world and to know how to pray when we hear reports of disaster, war, disease and crime.
  • Christians who are seeking to encourage and train Christians in challenging situations in Cambodia, Burma, Laos, Nepal, Bangladesh, Pakistan., Syria and other “Arab Spring” countries.
  • that Lent may be a time to examine ourselves and ask for God’s help to become more Christ like in our desires and in our conduct
