Prayer Requests – 3rd February 2013

Things for you to pray for this week …

  • young people and parents considering applying for a place on Ventures, that they would find a place on a well run venture. Give thanks for the work of CPAS who oversee Ventures and Falcon Camps. Pray for leaders and their teams as they prepare for the summer.
  • give thanks for all those who lead and teach our young people and pray that the 23rd February would provide worthwhile help and encouragement
  • Xpedition Force: the right number of appropriate teachers and helpers for   Pray for a willing support team to enable good quality teaching materials, activities, crafts, refreshments, games, decoration, music etc. within a safe setting.
  • all those who have been bereaved including Martin Wady whose father’s funeral will be on Wednesday in Worthing
  • those with elderly or sick relatives to know how much and what kind of support to offer and for wisdom when faced with practical decisions about future care.
  • any who are ill or convalescing after illness or surgery, Helen Minter, Digby Morgan Jones, George Clarke, Barbara Owen, Graham Sollars
  • give thanks for the birth of Lisa Sheffield to Dave and Zoe (Monday 28th January), and pray for all new and prospective parents as they adjust to their responsibility including Adam and Becky White.
  • the workers and leaders of Festive, including Karen Jones, as they follow up this weekend conference, and for all their work in schools and colleges
  • God’s direction for all who are working for peace and the restraint of violence in Syria, Algeria, Mali and many other countries. Courage for leaders and for Christians  seeking to witness while under pressure.
  • that there will be persuasive speeches which are successful in resisting the attempt to redefine marriage. Pray for MPs voting on Tuesday in the House of Commons
  • members of the PCC as we meet on Monday evening.
  • anyone who is hearing God’s call to repent and believe in Jesus, that their eyes would be opened and they would respond wholeheartedly.
