Prayer Requests – 20th January 2013

Things for you to pray for this week …

  • give thanks for all those who lead and teach our young people and for those who will be teaching at the Holiday Club. Pray for a willing support team and that children will be eager to attend. Remember Sally Eddon, Nicky and Martin Bailey as they develop  the content.
  • all those who have been bereaved
  • any who are facing hospital treatment or recovering from injury, including Joyce Jackson, Barbara Owen, Dorothy Shiers
  • carers and those they look after to have patience with one another and to ask God to help them grow in Christ likeness.  Pray for those in desperate circumstances to hear the gospel and respond in repentance and faith
  • school students taking exams and studying, that they would be able to enjoy their work and develop their knowledge and discipline with a view to life beyond school. Also for Christian students to be good ambassadors when things are dull or difficult
  • the minority groups of Christians in Iran, Iraq Syria, Egypt, Israel, Palestine, Pakistan.
  • the Prime minister , his cabinet and diplomats as they try to deal with threats and terrorism such as the hostage crisis in Algeria, and for the civilians and their families who are affected
  • Rod Thomas the Chairman of Reform and others who are working to hold Church of England leaders and decision makers to account with regard to biblical truth as it relates to ministry and conduct . Pray for their personal godliness strength to cope with the pressure of giving clear and persuasive comments to the media on controversial topics
  • for the organising committees and the speakers who are preparing for university and college missions during the next few weeks
  • that God would enable us to have a renewed desire for what is good in his eyes and to resist  temptation which leads us away from him
