  • preparations for the RE inspection at the lower school this coming Wednesday 9 May, pray for Sarah Smith as RE Co-ordinator, the Head Teacher and Martin taking assembly that morning. Pray that the Christian ethos of the school would be recognised and that the process of inspection would help us to maintain it in the future
  • Bethany (the baby daughter of friends of Amy Chapman) in a critical condition in hospital. Pray that Amy and Phil will know how to show Christian love and support
  • the leaders of summer ventures to manage changes to the leadership teams so that the style of each camp can be maintained for practical safety, smooth running and a well coordinated teaching programme. Pray for young people from our congregation—some attending for the first time—to enjoy the experience and genuinely grow in Christian understanding
  • those attending Bible by the Beach to be encouraged and to remember and apply what they learn
  • all who are preparing for and taking tests and exams or reviewing results
  • newly elected councillors and MPs in the UK and the results of elections in other countries including France and Burma
  • Christian Aid Week next week to bring in much needed funds for important relief work and for other agencies dependent upon charitable giving
  • for those affected by the deaths following an attack at Bayero University campus in Kano, Nigeria, pray that God would bring comfort and courage to the Christian community
  • for the rebuilding of the work following the fire which destroyed the Bible School and many other resources in the large refugee camp at Mae La on the Burma-Thai border last Saturday
  • for ourselves and other Christians to learn what holiness means for our everyday lives:
“… just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do..” (1 Peter 1:15)
