Prayer Requests – 12th February 2012

Things for you to pray for this week …

  • Prayfor people to consider standing for the PCC and for preparation of the annual report (annual meeting Monday 23rd April).
  • “Champions!” holiday club. Give thanks that applications are coming in and pray
  • for more children to remember to talk about it at home over half term and decide to come. Pray for Katy overseeing the general decoration of the church ( a big job in every way) and for others working on special tasks. Core team of Sally Eddon, Katy Carter, Nicky and Martin Bailey.
  • the open air service on Ross Meadow to celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee at the beginning of June. That it will be a positive and worthwhile, god-honouring occasion with an open welcome for as many from the village as possible and for good time together afterwards as we share a picnic lunch. Also for the lighting of the beacon to be memorable and uplifting
  • all who are being treated for serious illness and remembering Sheila Surridge’s grandson who is slightly improved but still in intensive care
  • those who are receiving medical care over several weeks or months to keep patient with the process of travelling to hospitals or surgeries, the side-effects and to have the comfort and support they need from family and friends
  • for Graham Sollars undergoing minor surgery at Hinchinbrooke Hospital this Thursday and others recovering from operations, including Jill Shaw
  • carers of severely disabled people.
  • health-care workers at all levels of practice and management as they debate the best way forward to provide good services in difficult economic circumstances
  • people suffering because of political or military struggles (Syria, Nigeria, Libya, Iraq ,Iran, Zimbabwe, Niger, ) and those who are suffering in the wake of natural disasters. Pray for stamina for those who are working to bring help with limited resources and overwhelming need that God would direct them to use what they have as effectively as possible.   (Somalia.  Haiti, New Zealand,  Japan, Thailand)
  • that we would be urgent in our discipleship through bible study and prayer and continue to work at making new disciples.
  • the church weekend away in October to be a focus for strengthened fellowship which will lead to fruitful witness in our community.
