Prayer Requests – 20th November 2011

Things for you to pray for this week …

  •  Emily King, baptised today, and all who are wanting to learn more about who God is and what it means to follow him.
  • workers trying to bring help in the desperate conditions of famine, disease, poverty, natural disaster and war. Pray for their strength and skilful use of resources to be as effective as possible
  • all who are seeking peace in places of unrest and violent conflict to persevere and for Christians to have the courage to live out God’s love in such places, including the volatile situations in Syria, Libya, Afghanistan, the new countries of North and South Sudan.
  • the lower school staff and head teacher, David Dyson, coping with the disruption of building work which has been delayed by a few weeks.
  • parents of very young children who have serious health problems.
  • for those who need to undergo a demanding course of treatment including Benny Wright,Edward Bean  and others who have not been well. Remember Anne Osborne.
  • the staff of nursing  and care homes, particularly remembering Brook House, that they would  have satisfaction in their work. Pray for all the residents and those who attend the service this week. (All Saints conduct a service there on the 4th Wednesday each month )
  • give thanks that Jane Bately  is now at home after a long time in hospital and pray for her to heal and grow stronger following an operation.
  • all who have been bereaved and anyone who has faced tragedy or is trying to come to terms with bad news
  • Pray for all surgeons, doctors nurses and carers and for all those who work to manage and finance health care in difficult economic circumstances
  • the shoe box campaign in its final stages to have enough volunteers and to meet deadlines for transport of the gifts. Pray for the distribution to bring joy and new hope to those who have very little
