Prayer Requests – 10th July 2011

Things for you to pray for this week …

  • Leo Matthews and Pamela-Jane Partington getting married here later today and for other couples preparing to be married including Harry Ferdinando to Lauren Doyle  & Anna Sollars to Paul Slater
  • summer ventures and all those connected with this congregation who are attending as members, leaders or helpers
  • young people trying to make decisions about their future – to be aware of what will be helpful for their spiritual life
  • all who are recovering from operations or receiving treatment for illness. Pray for those whose poor health is a burden to have confidence in God. Remember Jack Hancock, Anne Osborne, Doris Neil, all of whom have recently been bereaved – to be able to cope with all arrangements but also to have time to reflect on what has happened and be aware of God’s presence
  • the schools in our village, their teachers and head teachers approaching the end of this academic year – to work effectively for the good of all pupils
  • in places of war, protest and uprising pray for God to open up ways to promote just and stable outcomes and to give courage to those with the responsibility of leadership to know and do what is good in his eyes.Pray for Christians to have wisdom about how they should live under pressure
  • the people close to the borders of the new countries of North and South Sudan – to give time for the new political arrangements to settle and to resist being drawn into violence out of fear for what is new
  • those who organise the running of the huge refugee camps for the countries in the horn of Africa to be wise about how to make the best provision as more and more people arrive seeking help
  • for God’s hand on the debates and decisions of the General Synod of the Church of England to direct the outcomes for the building up of Christian life and witness across our country
